Walking in Your Anointing: Part 1

Dr. Dennis Demuth                         Superintendent

Adapted from Spirit Directed Discipline: Helping Johnny and Susie to Behave
Those who work in Christian education should be able to give testimony that he/she has a sense of God's call, that teaching is God's will, and that teach-ing at Victory Christian School is God's direction. Be-ing called of God is a primary requirement, in addition to academic and professional preparation. Included in this calling is a special anointing that provides the ability to accomplish the mission of our school - train-ing students to live by the Word of God, to be led by the Spirit of God and to reach out to others with the love of God.

Most Christian educators do not see themselves as anointed. They see themselves as prepared to teach or to administrate. Preparation may help them have a great lesson or be a good manager, but it does little to break the strongholds of the devil in the lives of students. It is these strongholds that keep students from accomplishing all that God intends, whether it be in the area of academics, fine arts, or sports.
In Luke 4:18 Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has appointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor: He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.”
In Acts 10:38 we read, "How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He went about doing good and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by the power of the devil, for God was with him(AMP).”
This same anointing resides in you, First John 2:27 reads, "But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and it is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in him."
Whom God appoints, He anoints – "Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God" (2 Corinthians 1: 21). What Jesus was able to say about himself in Luke 4:18, we can say about ourselves. Just as Jesus was sent by his father, Jesus sends us (John 20:21). He sends us with this same anointing.

Why do teachers and administrators need the anointing? For the same reason Jesus needed it: for strength, ability and power. The purpose is to destroy the yoke that hold students and their families in bondage to sickness, combination, fear of the future, anxiety, inferiority, ill will, unforgiveness, animosity, heaviness and guilt, and lack,
Jesus called and anointed you to teach and to minister the gospel to the poor. This was not just to the physically or spiritually poor, but to those who are poor in self-image and poor in self-control. It was to those students poor in discipline, poor in academics, or have a poor attitude, His anointing released in your life will bring healing to the brokenhearted, and deliverance to the captives – those bound up in a willful defiance or taken captive by the philosophies of this world.
This anointing will bring recovering of sight to the blind (all types of blindness). For example: those who cannot see anything wrong with R-rated movies, certain types of music, alternative lifestyles, drugs or rebellion and those blinded to temptations, snares, and seductions. This anointing will set at liberty those who are bruised – the hurts behind rebellion, lack of love, attention and understanding.
Some people are under the impression that the only place where the anointing can flow is in a worship
